Inner Peak

Inner Peak is a mental wellness support platform for students and teachers, accessible via mobile app or web app. The platform provides personalized daily resilience training and coping skill-building in a fun and engaging form to help give the students the skills necessary to succeed in life that often aren’t explicitly taught in a classroom. Impact
  • Intended outcomes: Inner Peak was created to improve student understanding of coping skills and overall wellbeing. This results in outcomes like improved attendance, improved performance, improved engagement / satisfaction, reduced disciplinary issues, reduced drop out rate, and reduced number of crisis events.
  • Demonstrated outcomes: With Inner Peak's first two partner schools, students saw a 10% improvement in their mental wellbeing as measured by the Warwick Edinburgh mental wellbeing scale. 15% more students reported being confident in the coping skills that they know. See more information here.  Inner Peak is also in the midst of a clinical trial to demonstrate efficacy.
Privacy & Safety
  • Privacy & Security: Inner Peak follows all appropriate industry standards in data security and privacy such as FERPA and COPPA. They are in the process of earning SOC 2 certification. Because they are a self-help wellness app, HIPAA certification is not required, but they broadly adhere to HIPAA guidelines regardless.
  • Crisis protocols: Protocols are adaptable to school / district needs. Inner Peak flags any message that indicates that a student may be a risk of harm to themselves or others. They then administer the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale to assess risk of suicidality. Based on the district's preferences they then trigger a notification to the school and/or the student's emergency contact.
Data provided to school/district

Inner Peak provides full visibility into when and how students are using the app in an aggregated and anonymized form.

Accessibility
  • Web accessibility: All of Inner Peak's video content is subtitled. Users have the option to use voice to text instead of typing things.
  • Language accessibility: If the user messages in another language, the product will automatically pick that up and respond in that language. Videos are in English with English subtitles, but upon school's request can be translated into any other language.
