Neolth recommends self-guided content tailored to teens’ needs, including practices like breathwork, moderated blogs, videos and livestreams authored by clinicians and other teens. For teens who require a higher level of care, Neolth has a care escalation system that directs them to crisis counselors in real-time

Impact
  • Intended outcomes: Neolth provides health education, stigma-reduction & life skills training (ie. emotional regulation) to young people.
  • Demonstrated outcomes: Neolth has internal and external research initiatives, including their STEMSEL project with the University of Miami (more information here). In just five logins, Neolth reduced teen stress (Wheeler et al., 2023). In three weeks, Neolth reduced help-seeking stigma, acting as a stepping stone to clinical care (Warnstadt et. al, 2022).

Privacy & Safety
  • Privacy & security: Neolth complies with COPPA, FERPA, and HIPAA. Their products are co-designed with teens to balance teen privacy and confidentiality with safety.
  • Crisis protocols: Teens’ interactions with self-guided content on Neolth are kept confidential, however any concerns identified by Neolth's crisis safeguards are reported in real-time based on the school’s care escalation policies.

Data provided to school/district

Aggregate, de-identified data about engagement on Neolth, stress level, and health symptoms of the student body can be shared with the school. If consent is given by the student and parent, an individual student’s health and engagement information can be shared with school health professionals via Neolth's HIPAA-compliant analytics dashboard.

Accessibility
  • Web accessibility: Neolth complies with WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines. Technical and user accessibility are prioritized.
  • Language accessibility: Neolth is currently available in English. Customized content libraries including content in other languages are available upon request.
